1900s Inspired Underpinnings
This project came about as a combination of things I wanted to try to make: an S-curve corset, fan-lacing, a lobster tail bustle, and a whole outfit out of a very limited color palette. As luck would have it, I found a bunch of heavyweight fabric swatches in these muted beige and creme tones on clearance at the fabric store. They are so beautiful I knew I had to use them on this set of undergarments. This means of course that they're not the right fabrics to wear underneath clothes, which is why we composed them all together so as to be worn without the additional layers. This means that there isn't anything very historical about it, but it's cool nonetheless. I also made a matching tea cup holster, leaning into the fantasy vibe, and adding a fun touch.

We were lucky to be able to shoot in the impressive main hall of the Palais de Rumine, a 19th century building in a florentine renaissance style in Lausanne, Switzerland.
I loved making this outfit and I can't wait to add more pieces to it!
Thanks to the stunning @isildhen for modelling, you have the most perfect soft and delicate energy that made this shoot so much better than I could have imagined. Thanks also for editing all of the photos.
Special thanks to Seb for putting up with me and running around after me holding the remote flash.
